International technical inspection
International inspection is a comprehensive check of the vehicle’s technical condition in accordance with international standards and requirements. It is mandatory for all vehicles crossing borders and guarantees the safety of your trip and compliance with the environmental standards of other countries.

The presence of a mandatory technical control protocol is increasingly being checked at the borders with EU countries. Checkpoints may ask for a document confirming that you have passed the technical inspection. If you do not have it, you may be denied entry into the country.
Vehicles of categories M1, M2, M3, N1, N2, N3 registered in Ukraine are subject to mandatory technical inspection. Therefore, timely technical inspection and the availability of relevant documents will help you avoid delays and unpleasant situations at the border.

Certification
Vehicle certification is a mandatory procedure for vehicles registration in Ukraine, which provides confirmation that vehicles comply with the standards and can safely move on the roads. Depending on the category and manufacture year of the vehicle, the level of environmental standards – Euro 2 – Euro 5 – is also subject to verification. This indicator for passenger cars that have been registered with the relevant authorities must be at least Euro 2, for other cars the exhaust emission rate must be at least Euro 5.

The list of required documentation for certification includes:
- technical passport of the previous country of registration;
- documents confirming ownership;
- customs documents;
- passport of a citizen of Ukraine, a copy of the taxpayer identification code;
- extract from the Unified Register for Legal Entities;
- Power of Attorney if the owner is represented by a third party.
Mandatory technical control of vehicles (MTC), or technical inspection, is a step-by-step inspection of cars, trucks, buses and trailers for compliance with the standards established in Ukraine.
